Teacher selection

If you are selecting your own teacher/(s), ensure they have been background checked and hold the necessary academic and teaching qualifications. Tutoring agencies are not legally required to carry out background checks, so it is important that parents verify their teacher/(s) hold a recent enhanced DBS certificate. A PGCE or PGDE certificate demonstrates that the tutor has formally trained and qualified as a teacher.
